NRB services

Mwanza District Registration Office-NRB is involved in the registration of individuals (Citizens and Foreign nationals) in the district through issuance of birth certificates, National Identity cards, death certificates and soon to initiate registration and certification Marriages. Village registers are also provided to Village Heads be registering villagers as well as deaths (taking place at community level as well as burials taking places in village graves)

The Malawi Government established the National Registration Bureau (NRB) which is a Government Department under Ministry of Homeland Security. The National Registration Act of 2010 mandates NRB to implement, coordinate, manage and maintain the National Registration and Identification System (NRIS) in Malawi. It is mandated to be providing an up-to-date population bio data in an efficient and effective registration with intention of fostering positive identification of bona fide Malawian citizens and foreign residents.
